Bio
Sam came to yoga soon after moving to Seattle in 2004. She quickly recognized the healing benefits of yoga and delved into the ancient practice. As a person who credits yoga with restoring her health, she teaches because she believes we all have the power to heal and live lives of joy, and that yoga can help. Her intention in teaching is to provide an avenue for each student to discover, honor, and listen to the teacher within.

Sam completed teacher training at the Hatha Yoga Center in Seattle. Her travels to Australia, Canada, Europe, Indonesia, Israel, Mexico, and New Zealand inform her practice. She has been inspired by many teachers, but is most inspired by her students. A continual source of inspiration is Ghandi’s reminder to “be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Sam's love for yoga shines in her instruction. She incorporates stories and demonstrations, allowing students to laugh, learn, and discover. She emphasizes the integrity of each pose and letting go of preconceived notions of what the body can do. Sam challenges students to work at the edge of effort and ease in order to build focus, endurance, and grace. She fosters a supportive, non-competitive environment where students are always respected and given permission to be themselves.
